Second GJU Dual Studies Company Day
On Thursday, March 12, 2020, GJU successfully conducted its second Dual Studies Company Day.
Aim of the event was to facilitate the matching process between students and companies for the next intake in the Dual Studies Track.
Prof. Dr. Ralf Rosskopf, Vice President for International Affairs at the German Jordanian University, opened the day. He emphasized that Dual Studies is an important pillow in GJUs industrial relations dimension. It is a pleasure to have so many companies on Campus. “Build after the model of a German University of Applied Science, cooperation with the private sector is essential for GJU and the Dual Studies are currently one of our strongest connection to the private sector” Prof. Rosskopf noted.
The German Development Cooperation (GIZ) supports the Dual Studies Program at the GJU. Dr. Wolfgang Frohberg, who is responsible from GIZ side, was impressed how much the program has grown since last year. “I am delighted to see how much more students and companies are participating this year.” Furthermore, he pointed out that the program is not only growing number wise, but also will develop content wise, as we are now extending to two new majors: International Accounting and Industrial Engineering; moreover, we are starting to discuss and set up online learning specifically for the program.
After the opening students and companies had the chance to meet and get a first impression of each other. More than 70 first-year students from the Departments of Logistics Sciences, International Accounting, Computer Science and Industrial Engineering were using the chance to learn more about GJUs partner companies. Compared to last year, the number of students taking part has more than doubled.
Companies expressed their satisfaction. “We had very good conversations with interesting young people. I am impressed how mature many of them are already; I think I was not that focused on my future career when I was their age.” one of the company representatives stated.
The following companies are partners for GJUs Dual Studies:
